Battlestar Galactica has returned to the airwaves (and the intertubes…shh) now that the Writers’ Guild strike is settled, and not a moment too soon. Every aspect of this show - from the writing and acting to the music and special effects - pulls me in and refuses to let go. Yes, being a sci-fi geek (and proud of it) certainly helps, but Battlestar is hands down one of the finest shows on television. And I hate television. This fourth and final season is going to be one hell of a ride.
Do yourself a favor: rent season one and start watching episode one now. I mean it - right now. I’m not going to write a five paragraph essay on the incredible depth, present-day relevance, and artistry this show brings to the genre - to entertainment as a whole (three words: Edward James Olmos). There are other blogs for that. But rest assured I will probably not be able to contain myself each time a new episode airs.
